Trachyphylia(?) deflating to skeleton?

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased this coral and it's had a hard time in my tank. My gobies almost completely buried it so I was forced to move it up a bit. I'm worried that my MH lighting is too intense for it now. It never seems to fully fatten up but it does shrink down and expose its skeleton. I've noticed some sweeps come out in the early morning. - I wanted to know if this is normal? It is also now expelling dark brown stuff from about 6 holes (waste I hope?)

It could well be that it is not acclimated to the light.
How are other LPS in your tank doing? Water parameters could be a contributing factor.
As for the brown substance, it could be just waste or it could be expelling zooxanthellae
because of stress.

Thanks for the response.

I only had 1 place I could put it so I don't have much choice in regards to lighting.

It has now swollen back up and the skeleton is barely visible. Other corals are all doing fine.

How do I tell if it's waste or zooxanthellae? It looks like long brown strings. I've seen my moon coral do it before and my anemone does it sometimes.

Here's how it looks now:
