Transfering livestock from temporary holding area.

Hi guys, I have a question to you from the cold north, Norway would be that particular place.

In august I had a slight mishap and my 300 gallon Deltec tank sprung leak. I had to remove all my lifestock to temporary holding tanks in my garage, which is in fact a challenge in our climate hehe. Anyway now I am been told that my new 500 gallon tank from Shuran is on it's way to Norway from Germany:celeb1:

Hence I want to take my time on the new build an leave nothing to coincidence and I want to get your take on moving the fish over to the new tank when the time comes. I would love to make sure that there is no parasites at all that follow the fish from the holding tanks to their new home. I won't even use any of the old LR for this reason.

So, what would you do? If I remove all other life forms from the tank like starfish, snails, some of the coral that survived the move(which was not much:headwalls:) etc. Is there any "medication" you would recommend me using for this purpose? Or any other method you might be able to enlighten me on?

Hope I wasn't to clumsy in my attempt to explain my ideas.

Please advice guys.

Paul

I would do at least a ttm (tank transfer method) to make sure there is no ich, copper would also work but some fish dont do well with copper so i steer away from that. Also take any cuc, corals, rock that you want to move to the new tank and place it in a seperate tank and leave them fishless for 72 days to make sure no ich tags along. Other than that you should be fine.

Please post pics of your new tank or start a build thread :D. Good luck

I sure hope it's gonna turn out great. The tank is 119 X 34 x 31,5 inches. This is a build I am not going to do anything wrong hehe, this time it is one keyword: Patience:lolspin:
