Transitioning M. bipartitus

The larger of our two female M. bipartitus has started the transition to male. We managed to snap a quick pic last night - definitely in the ugly duckling stage, LOL:


We lost our big green Hulk in early May and still miss him. He was a juvenile when we acquired him and he had been with us for about 4 years:


We're very excited to see the process once again and it will be great to have a Hulk Jr in the tank.

(s)he doesn't look too bad yet, but it will get worse, lol. We're going to try and document it better this time around.

The kuiteri doesn't bother them at all. She has grown quite a bit since we put her in the tank and is at least twice the size of the transitioning bipartitus.

Very cool, I have something similar going on. I have a transitioning Meleagris. Talk about ugly duckling! Dont mean to hijack your thread, but I love leopards.
