Treating for Flukes

Alright.

Did a 20% water change and started second treatment. No "snow globe" affect this time. Maybe they were Flukes. I turned off aeration when I added the second dose. Not sure if it makes a difference, but it said to turn off foam fractionation. I know they mean skimming, but better safe than sorry. I'll turn it back on this afternoon. Skimmer is still off and will stay that way for 5 more days. Xenia took it much better the second time, not even closing all the way.

So far so good with everyone.

Treatment is done. I did a 20% water change and started up my skimmer again. Everyone came out fine, but now my fish is acting funny.

Problem. My Blenny is not eating. I know Prazi can suppress appetite, but she ate like a pig during treatment. Now she is interested in food, and swims at it like she wants to eat, then just doesn’t. It’s only been two days, but I know if there is something I should do, or if there is a problem, now is the time to do something. Worried all over again.

Is this just part of the deal?

You may have to do another treatment. Sometimes two doses are not enough. I had a wrasse that did that but after another dose he ate ok. I've read that sometimes flukes will find its way into the mouth/esophagus of the fish.

Alright. I'll see how it goes tonight with feeding. If she still won't eat, then I guess Prazi round three.

It's weird though, that lack of apatite just shows up now.

Thanks for the follow up.

Better yesterday, but still going right at the food, checking it out, and then either biting and spitting or just swimming away. She did get down some brine and Mysis bits, do I feel sort of good about that.

I thought maybe she's getting tired of the same three foods (Mysis, brines, and chopped clam). Thought I might try some new stuff. Pellets, nori, and maybe some chopped shrimp.

Also my skimmer is blowing out a crap ton of bubbles. I think it's messing with her. She did better with it off.

Got some pellets food. Omega One. She gobbled it right up. Threw some chopped clam in as well. I think we are on the mend.

I was noticing more yellow coloration on the fish as well. It was so hard to tell what is normal on a fish you have never seen before, but for a seconds in a bag, a few pokes from behind PVC, and then possibly sick. I think all is well.

Thank you for your concern and help.
