Treating ich IN TANK

So what if I have something that I suspect may be the start of ich on only ONE fish..... but I'm not even for sure that it's marine ich.
I don't want to tear my whole tank apart trying to get out every last fish, but I want to get the situation under control from the beginning JUST IN CASE.
Are there any effective ways of treating a possible ich outbreak IN TANK??? This means, in the display tank, not quarantine tank or other seperate tank.
Thanks!
Valerie

You know what's weird.....
The few spots that he has only appear after the lights are first turned on, after he's been sleeping. Then as he wakes up, they disappear.
This is a midas blenny I'm talking about, and it's only on his one side, nowhere near the gills or eyes.

Do the spots appear on and off during the day while lights are on?

Do they appear when he wakes, independ of time of day (ie. if you were to turn lights on at a later hour)?

Is there any correlation between presence/absence of the spots and to activity (swimming, feeding, etc)?

I ask because I wonder whether it is just a strange chromatophore reaction in your blenny. I have a close friend who had a Bicolor Blenny that would develop a few white spots shortly after perching on live rock. Moments after the Blenny began to swim the spots would fade away. Further, I believe that Medic29 (you know him right) recently acquired a Mida Blenny that also displays white coloration as specific occasions. Though I do not recall the exact conversation, so you may want to PM him.

I guess would be that if they were in fact lesions from an external parasite, they obviously would not appear and disappear within the matter of a few hours...on consecutive days. Thus, I would just keep a close watch over all the fish in your tank and make sure that all are eating and free of other symptoms of disease (lethargy, rapid breath, stringy feces, etc).

well, the spots seem to be raised. Like little ich cysts. Otherwise, I know what you mean.
I will talk to Rick, thanks for the info.

If you have white sand as your substrate, he could have some sand on him, depending on how he sleeps, then when he gets to swimming it falls off. I've seen people freak about this a few times and a couple treated for ick, when it was just sand. Just wanted to run that one buy ya.
