So I have an outbreak of ich in my 180 gallon system. I will have to quarantine these fish and two blennys and do hypo on them and wait for my DT to complete its cycle of this nasty parasite...
I have a few questions that I need some answers on...
I have 3 Tangs, 1 Yellow, 1 Desjardini, and 1 Pacific Blue.
I also have 2 Oscellaris Clowns and Two Lawnmower Blennies..
What can I house them in to start my treatment?
Can I use a 40 Gallon Rubbermaid Brute Series Garbage Can and put a small light on the top controlled by a timer? with a heater and a powerhead??? Will that be safe as to not cause a cycle in the can? Otherwise all I have is a 55 gallon tank that has 60 lbs of sand in it..
I was going to do the hypo in the 55 but with the sand, I heard it will kill anything living (Bacteria Wise) in the sand...
The PBT is only 1 1/2'' long and he got the ICH after about 3 days in my 180.. I did not quarantine him, so this is why I am setting up a QT. He looks like his condition is improving... He eats like a machine and swims around the tank like crazy... The Desjardini is starting to show signs of the ICH as well... I want to bite this crap in the butt quick before it engulfs my tank.
