hi guys, made the stupid mistake of not q/ting a fish ,,,now i have ick in main display:( i have set up a q/t tank for treating all the fish. but i dont think i can keep all my fish alive for 6-8 weeks in my small q/t tank. does anybody know of a truly reef safe treatment for main display tanks . this would not be to cure the fish as they would be in q/t,,,this would be to shorten the lifecycle of the ick itself in main display tank...please help tanks

There is no wonder cure. Stay away from all those "reef safe" medications. They don't work and are a waste of money. There are only 2 ways to treat ich- hyposalinity and copper. Ideally, your fish are treated with one of these 2 methods in a QT to rid them of the ich. Ich cannot survive in the absence of a host (fish) so simply moving your fish put of your DT and leaving it fallow for 8 weeks should cause the ich to die out. If your DT is a FOWLR and having a QT is not an option you could treat your entire DT but this should only be a very last resort.
