I was wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with one of these guys? I think they're really cute and would love to have one but I've never seen one in any of the local stores and I've only seen a couple websites advertising them.

How reef safe are they? One of the articles I read on them mentioned that they might nibble on SPS. I've never kept SPS before but am considering it for my 75g after I get the lighting situated.

OMG that is too cute, so what if it nibbles SPS.

BTW, I didn't realize that was you at the meeting today, just thought you were a regular customer or I would have come over and said hi. So Hi!

Not me, unfortunately. I missed out on the meeting completely. :(

And yeah, I think this particular blenny is just adorable and I don't ordinarily say that about fish. I've found very little info on them online. I've sent emails to some of the retailers that had them on stock lists but probably won't get anything back until Monday.

Well, some body misinformed me! Now I don't feel so bad, but do hope to meet you soon. And if you do get the Blenny I must see it.

lol No worries. I really wanted to be there. Hopefully make it to the next one. If I don't have transportation, I'll get someone to drive me. ;)

I definitely like this blenny. I want to find out if their sexes can be distinguished and if a pair would be okay together in a 75g. The only US retailer I've found that lists them is Aquatic Connection but I've never ordered fish or corals online before. Would it be better to see if one of the LFS could get them in?

Heh. If you would have called one of us, we could have come by and picked you up. :D I think you only live about 2 miles from the meeting at Aquatic Marine. And next month's meeting is shaping up to be in Clinton, so about half the membership will be passing by your house on the way up there. But hopefully your car will be cooperating at that time...

Well I didn't want to just start bumming for rides. What sort of first impression would that be? lol

I have pseudo-family in Clinton/Lake City so if that's where the next meeting will be and my car is still giving me trouble, I'll get one of them to get me where I need to be.

I'm special ordering one of these guys through Aquatic Marine and will be picking it up tomorrow. I'm so happy to have found someone nearby that can get it for me. The alternative was going to be ordering it from someone in San Diego and the shipping was going to be rather hefty. . o_O I'll post pics if I can after we're home and settled tomorrow.

S/He's cute as can be but is very hard to photograph. It claimed an entire porous rock and darts in and out of crevices while picking at algae. It's hard to pick him/her out of that first photo because everything is so blue. My camera didn't do such a great job of focusing, either, but I finally got my blenny and I'm happy!

Oh, and just out of curiosity.... is it normal for a kole tang to eat cyano? I'm having a bit of a cyano outbreak in this tank and just today I caught our kole tang nibbling on it.

Nice looking fish. I have a hard time getting my fish to be still enough to get a picture. I guess that is not a problem with a blenny, huh. :lmao:

Nope, no name yet. The only things in the tank with names are a pair of skunk cleaner shrimp that my daughter insisted should be named "Seashell" and "Spike". In all honesty, she's probably named everything and just hasn't informed me of it. ;)
