triggers in mixed reef aquarium

who here has a trigger in their reef aquarium?

what kind of trigger do you have? What does it eat? What have you done to prevent it from nibbling on any of your corals?

i talked to a LFS about having triggers in a reef aquarium. The LFS had a 1000k gallon tank and had about 5 or 6 triggers in the tank. apparently they only eat the inverts (hermit crabs & snails, shrimps) and not corals...

My step dad had a mixed reef with a blue throat trigger for years until it recently died..... he never had an issue with the trigger eating any inverts or corals. it would eat frozen mysis, brine, silversides, krill

I've had my mated bluejaw's for about a year. They eat like pigs! They eat just about.......wait..."anything" I put in the tank. I have not seen them bother my sps yet.

i have a niger trigger in myreef.....i have a cleaner shrimp he's been fine although my sandsifting star got eaten by him...outside of that model citizen

I have had 2 differant blue jaws with all corals as well as differant types of shrimp and crabs, never a problem. I have found them to be great reef tank fish.
