Trimming Cheato, Why any advantages

Is there any advantage to trimming it back, My fuge is packed with it why trim it.

It consumes the nutrients and then you harvest it to remove them. Then it grows again and consumes more.

the amount you trim is based on the size of the space its in. when you trim (ie rip out some from the ball) you want to fluff the ball up some to allow water to flow through it letting the stuff in the middle get some nutrients

Trimming would effectively export nitrates and phosphates. I wouldn't trim to the point where there's not enough cover for pods though.
