Tropic Marin--More Concentrated?

I went & dropped 2x the $$$ I usually spend on a bucket of salt, as per the advice of folks here. Only done 3 water changes w/it--no discernable differences as of yet. Anything I should be looking for?

Anyway, I've noticing that instead of the close to 4 cups of RC I needed/6g bucket, I'm only using around 3 cups of TM.

I am not sure puffer, TM Pro is the only salt I have used on my new reef so I have nothing to compare it to.

Never used it, but discussed it w/ experienced reefers. Many swear by it b/c it is one of the few salt mixes that contains a proper ratio of the important elements. Where as other cheaper salt mixes are lacking in the proper amount of at least 1 necessary element.

for 31.99 a bucket at petsmart w/coupon I/O is the salt for my budget.

In my test's it has a better Ca and ALK level than IO but MG is lower. FWIW, I don't think you'll actually SEE a difference. In some trace elements it was much closer to NSW than IO, and in some is was much higher, but overall it tested out closer IMO. I use it, but in no means think it is superior to any of the other salts. I think all the salts are junk . Just browse through a few of these articles to see how far off our synthetic salts are. These have been passed around a lot, from I pulled them from The chemistry forum...so you may have come across them in the past...

Agree with pk1 here. Used buckets and saw no difference other than in my wallet. Cheaper to buy the IO and supplement as needed.

When I started using TMpro from RC, I also noticed that I used less salt. The thing I like about it is that it never clumps up /hardens and mixes up so easily.

Been using TM for years, just started my first bucket of TM Pro, so to soon to make any comparisons.

It is not more concentrated, it just more finely ground to speed up dissolution so if you measure by volume there is less air in between the grains in TM than RC.
