Hi,
I'm not try to discuss about the different brand salt in here but yesterday when I stop by my LFT, the guy in store recomend me to change my salt to Tropical Marine which is he told me that I'll see alot of better in reef tank like the coral will get better and more color...etc. But the price seen to expensive $100/bucket (for 200G mix). My question is base on your study and your experience is it worth to spend expensive salt? And Is it really make a difference?
Current salt is IO.

Thanks

You can order pro reef from tropic marin in a 200G bucket for about $65 from Dr. F&S.
Way better than $200.
I switched and am beginning to think the best salt is the least expensive!
Pro oReef dissolves quicker than anything I have seen, And they seem to be super consistant with the product.
Try it!
Decide for yourself...

Tropic Marin is a fine salt, as best I can tell. Maybe better than IO, or not. But I use IO and have not seen anything to convince me that it is worth switching, regardless of cost.

IMO, it is very unlikely that you would notice any change in coral colors by switching from IO to Tropic Marin.

it's a good salt...I use the regular, but it's alittle low in Mg. Just a side not I have relatives down in Houston and I won't be buying any salt when I visit there...$100 for 200 gal..wow!

For what it's worth... My cousin has a reef that is 6 months old. He uses Instant Ocean, drips Kalk and his Torts, millies, and Monti all look AWESOME.. I on the other hand switched from Instant Ocean to Tropic Marin about 8 months ago and everything spiraled downward.. I have had other issues, non-salt related, but with every water change I do with Instant Ocean, my polyp extension improves...

I am back to Instant Ocean..

the tropic marin is just an ok salt. You are probably talking about TROPIC MARINE PRO.The same company but not the same salt. The pro is much more expensive the regular tropic marine is just a regular salt.I have used that one in the past,is ok but not worth the extra money.I have heard many good things about the pro but its costly. The cheapest I have seen it online is $65 for I think 150 gal but add the shipping $20
