trouble with lights

My lights are acting funny and Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m not sure the problemââ"šÂ¬Ã‚¦
When running two halides I had no issues but after about 20 minutes of running the third halide all three shut off. I checked the GFCI and the breaker and both are fine and not flipped. I checked the power strips that the halides are plugged in to and it is dead. I switched them to an American DJ power center and after 15 minutes it shut off as well.
So, I ran two ballasts again and all was well even running the new third halide.
Does three M80 ballasts pull more than 15 amps and ruining my power equipment? The lights are staggered when they come on by 20 minutes.

250 watts each pulling closer to 333 watts due to HQI ballasts.

Probably 8 or 9 amps on a power strip that can handle 15 amps.

M80 ballast pull around 4 amps Each.. Depends a lil on the bulb.. So yeah you are maxing out a 15 amp circuit.. You are suppose to rate your circuits at 80%... So on a 15 amp powerstrip you really shouldn't be pulling more then 12 amps... Your lights need there own 15 amp circuit!! Your other equipment needs to go on another. If you have a 20amp breaker then just have two power strips one with the lights and one with all the other stuff...

Btw FYI I have a lil digital plug in deal that I got at a generator store.. Plug a device into it and it tells you the watts and the amps it pulls... Radio shack sell one something like it.. Its a great idea to know exactly how much power your pulling on a circuit.. I circuit can heat up and cause a fire long before your trip the breaker!! HTH
