I am having some trouble keeping coral alive I don't understand why. The inverts and the fish are doing fine. How do you get the system rid of the brown jelly infection.
My Parm's are
Nitrate 0
Nitrite0
Ammonia0
Phosphate0
Calcium 460
Dkh11
Thanks for the help.

I recently lost a beautiful long tentacle plate coral to brown jelly.
That stuff really sux. It completely wiped it out in a few days.
I'm not an expert but that crap works fast. Increase flow and use a turkey baster to keep it from forming around the coral.
I was totally ignorant to brown jelly when it took over my plate.
The coral looked like it was splitting or maybe getting ready to reproduce. Then the end where it split got a lil brown color to it.
the next day it looked like a clear brown blanket was pulled over a third of the coral but I could still see tentacles under the blanket and the rest of the coral looked great.
Next day the coral was totally covered with a brown blanket. I grabbed a turkey baster to see what was going on under there and nothing was left but a coral skeleton.
The moral of the story is that you might want to consider moving the coral and maybe a iodine dip is in order. What ever you do, do not allow the brown blanket to cover the coral.
