Trumpet coral question

Hey all new to the forum. Got a question might be a dumb one but better to ask. I'm setting up a new system and have some trumpet frags, one green and one red. I'd like to place them directly beside each other so they would eventually grow together and be kinda split red and green. I know a lot of lps don't sting the same species but i dont have much experience with trumpet. I just wanted to make sure before I put the frags in harms way. Btw.. Great site and a lot of knowledge. I'll post some pics and info of the new endeavors soon. Thanks a lot.

I think the red/maroon types are a different species than green furcata vs curvatta (spelling?) and one is more aggressive(red?) than the other and will sting it.

I don't think I've ever seen a true red trumpet. Gotta pic?

If they are indeed the same species but just different color morphs, you should not have a problem mixing them up. I have neon greens living for 3 years next to teal colored trumpets and they grow well & do not sting one another. In fact, the teal colored ones have aquired the bright green coloration at the center of each polyp. Maybe a transfer of symbiotic algae?

Who knows, you might get some interesting mixes. Welcome to RC too!
