This year I kept a small cortez ray for 5 monthes until it mysteriously died instantly to what I think was a stroke. The animal was very healthy up to this point in a 150 with only 3 pieces of live rock in the corner for a reef. This mazimized his swimming space. My nitrates are undectable.
The animal I am looking at now has only a 3.5 inch disk diameter and is healthy except for a small rip only 1 mm or so on his disk. This should heal correct? The wound looks clean and there is no sign of infection or blood. He seems very healthy other than that and is eating very well. Should I take him? Another concern is he is with another male full size cortez ray which I think caused this wound considering the bite on his under belly from my guy.
