my nano will be 19.5in and was wondering what you guys think of the 70 or 150w viper....what other lighting could i use? dont know too much about nano equipment....i think there's a sunpod as well but i'd like to hear experiences w/them.
Are you saying 19 inches high? If so how far across is this tank?
I have been doing alot of reading on lighting and IMO a nano tanks best light source for keeping all types of corals and having low heat would be T5 lights. Alot of people like MH because of the shimmer and of course because it is an excellent light source. It seems that you really need to watch out for heat and the cost of your power bill.
I actually have a 29 gallon and use 2 PC lights. Planing on going to 4 T5 bulbs unless I can be talked out of why not. As for the shimmer I have that simulated in my tank without a bulb. I have a sump/refugium and on the return I drilled just above the water line a little bigger than normal hole so water shoot out pretty good and creates shimmer. I actually drilled the hole to get away from installing a one way valve but by accident figured this out
