So I finally converted my last tank to saltwater. I was using a fluval g3 on the freshwater. I have heard nothing but bad stuff about canisters on saltwater tanks. So tonight I cleaned filter well . my goal is that it doesnt turn into nitrate factory.
Here is my plan for lack of a better one. using fluval pre filter and tri ex cartridge. Going to fill the 2 trays with medium sized crushed live rock ( plan on changing rock every six months. I may also add some elos gfo...

going to do species tank with a 12" Skeletor eel and medium angler ( One that wont fit in eels mouth.
Also buying a basketball size piece of pompom xenia. If you have a super large amount of xenia let me know, looking for blue... no other coral.. any thoughts.. eel is purchased but I am not set on angler.
