Currently have a 75 gallon tank and i have quickly realized that I like most of the big and show piece type of fish . I realize they need more room to swim. Anyone see any good deals on a 150 tall? Also any ideas on how to transfer all my fish water into new tank and a still maintain good water levels? i know i would syhpen the water out of my already established tank but still would need another 75 gallons. Used to have freshwater tank for about 10 years but I am very new into the saltwater fish. Any help is much appreciated thank you guys.

Assuming you will be adding more rock the safest thing to do would be to cycle the new rock in a separate container like a brute trash can. Once the new rock is cycled, set up the new tank with the new and old rock. Add new dry (washed) sand, I would not reuse your old sand as the trapped detritus in it could kick off a new cycle. Match the temperature, salinity and alkalinity of the old tank's water as closely as possible, transfer as much clean water from the old system as possible, then catch and transfer the fish.

If you are looking for a tank for big and showy fish, I wouldn't recommend the 150Tall since it's only four feet long. You would be better off with a 150 regular, which I think is six feet long and gives you enough room to at least consider a tang (for instance).

Keeping the quality of your water in the new tank does not require any water from the old tank, just whatever you are using for filtration (presumably live rock?) to be moved over without killing off the active bacteria.

One thing to consider, most of the show piece fish require larger fish tanks not for the larger water volume but for the increased length, so an upgrade from a 75 gal would be a six foot 125 gal. Fish swim laterally rather than up and down for the most part. A 150 gallon tall wouldn't really offer as much of a benefit as you're looking for.
