Tsunami ATO with Apex

Anyone take apart Bluelines ATO to use with the Apex. I'd like to use it as another water height sensor that could give the info to the Apex. I would think I would be able to solder some wires to the terminals and attach it to the Apex through the din8 cable. I just received magnetic float switches that I will be connecting to the din8 cable but thought I may be able to use the Tsunami ATO also. I have used these ATO for years and have always been very happy, they seem very dependable.

OK, I think I may have figured it out, I am going to remove all the existing wires and only use the top terminal box. I am going to attach a wire to the top terminal, (where the black wire is now) and another wire to the bottom terminal (where the yellow wire is). I will attach these wires to the I/O cable the same as I would other floats. I will not be able to do this until after Christmass as I do not have a I/O cable yet. I will post my results when I try it :)

What you have proposed should work. However, you might consider using it as a backup safety switch. I assume it works such that when the water level drops the pressure switch closes and supplies power to a pump. You should be able to switch the black wire on the pressure switch to the free terminal and reverse the operation. So when the water level rises to a high point, power is interrupted. If you then install it between the EB8 outlet and the pump, it will act as an independent failsafe, i.e. if the Apex erroneously attempts to overfill the sump, the modified ATO will cut power to the pump. Then you could just use simple float switches with the Apex to perform the ATO function.
