TTM and ammonia

I'm getting a little lazy and tired of cleaning out large volumes of water.

Can I TTM a single butterflyfish in a bucket?

I would rather change buckets every day than change 1o gallon tanks every 3 days.

That's the same amount if work. Just do 10 gallons every three days. To answer your question it should work.

Yes. I TTM'd 2 CBBs in a 5g bucket. I do almost all my TTMs in 5g buckets unless it's a big fish.

The problem is that they only like to eat frozen foods which quickly pollutes the tank.
I have started only feeding right before transfers to mitigate the problem.

When I got lazy things died. I took a 12 year break. Now i spend the time needed. Part of the hobby. Another option is you could spend money to automate it. Apex with pumps etc....

You have way more luck than me. I had 3 butterflyfish die in a 10 gallon tank between transfers even with feeding on the last day.

I will do a transfer every day from now on just to be safe!

Yes 3 days. I only feed on the last day. A little prime will solve the ammonia problem.

I wasn't really lazy but things still died. It was very painful to lose them even though I put the effort in.

I'm going to put even more due diligence by doing tank transfer every day from now on.

When I put 3 butterflies in a tank, they always die.

So I'm going to transfer 2 at most with more frequent transfers. Better safe than sorry.

From my understanding, it doesn't matter how many times you transfer as long as (less than 72 hours between transfers) and the total time is 2 weeks.

Just took your post words is all. Look at automating it.... buttryfly fish are so sensitive. Auto mate it makes it a slow process an keeps it level
