Hi

I'm new to tank transfer method. I'm wondering how i would do tank transfer method with anthias. If i get 3 anthias fish and use 10 gallon tanks to do the ttm am is that too many fish in the ttm tanks?

no you're fine, just keep up on your water changes and run some kind of ammonia locker. i was amquel in conjunction with prazi. i ended the xfer protocol a few xfers early though and moved them to observation because it was really hard to catch them.

i ended up having to use a net, the colander wasn't good enough. they're fast (lyretails).

so i figured if i had to resort to a net, it was kind of defeating the purpose.

but tldr; no you're fine. proceed as normal, just make sure you're keeping the tank clean.

Take the water out when you are ready to catch them. Take it down lower enough where the water is covering them. Easy catchings every time.

yeah i tried draining most of it down, removed everything else in there too. they're quick little buggers. this is the first time i've had an issue, pretty much everything else i've run through ttm has been fairly easy to catch, most of them eventually even getting used to the colander. usually i go first thing in the morning too, when it's dark and usually everyone is fast asleep.

i was toying around with the idea of making a tank sized net with some of the leftover clear BRS screen i have, but never got around to it.
