Tube Anemone Advice

My lfs has some black with bright green centered tube anemones. Can someone post their experience with these?

I have a couple, Only recently got them from a local reefer who had them for years. Mine seem pretty easy. You'll want to give them plenty of space, they will sting their neighbors. I feed mine some brine or mysid shrimp once or twice a week and they seem happy. I think if you get a healthy one, they are hardy. I had to get some additional substrate to bury the tubes, so depending how deep your substrate is, you may want to pick some up before you add one.

I've had a white one that I just got rid of, it was taking up way to much space, at night they extend their tenticles to twice what they're like during the day. In the end he ended up to big and was stinging things. These are also notorious fish catchers, and are very hard to keep. They need a very deep sandbed to burrow into, or you can get a piece of pvc pipe, put it in there and fill that with sand to make it feel safe. Personally I would stay away, but they do look nice under the actinics. These animals need low light, as they are nocturnal, but do need feeding regularly.

Ive had mine several months, seems happy where I stuck his tube in some rockwork. His tenticles are out most of the day . I havent spot fed him. He gets part of my rotifer and cyclopeez dosings. Occasionally goes in and stays in for a day . Mine is red tenticles with green center. Harmless livestock addition to my reef.
