Tubeworm Help

I need advice on how I should relocate hitch-hiking tubeworms that have taken over much of the back panel on one of my tanks. The ones I would like to move seem to love an internal powerhead and as a result it cannot stick to the glass properly (the worms have covered the suction pads). I don't want to kill the little guys or damage them during the transition, I just don't want them swarming over the glass. They're reproducing like crazy, the ones I'm trying to move have a dull, white tube and white feeding filters.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I cannot clean the glass without scraping them off.
