Removed 4x1500 SEIO's and a host of maxijets - now uswe TUNZE 6100x2 with Multicontroller + 1 SEIO 1500 (bottom right) + 2 Maxijet 1200's (on bottom behind rock work pointed at front of tank).

Love the TUNZE's Love the multicontroller - amazing quality, amazing control!

Your tank looks great , but it would look even better if you painted the back wall blue or black it would help the coral's color pop out.. just a thought .

Can you crank the flow all the way to 100%?

The reason I ask is that I am going to order a set of 6000's soon and I plan on upgrading to a 120 A$AP. The 6000's will be overkill for my current tank I am sure but not sure about the 120 I may need to upgrade them to 6100's. That is the nice thing about them for a few dollars I can upgrade the 6000's to 6100's if I need to.

Also how did you mount them? I was thinking about a set of the algae free magnets.

ray22 - there is about 3 feet of space in the back so students can view the reef from all sides....I agree with you though, I like the look of black painted tanks...

REEF-DADDY - Before the TUNZE's? Well, I've only used them for not even a week at this point...in a few months I will look at photos to see if they make a diff. from the SEIO 1500's that I used...

CeeGee - Yes, absolutely I crank the flow to 100%...it is great in a BB tank...

CeeGee - I mounted them with the Algae Free magnets - the smaller of the 2 models - they seem cheap when you open the box, but they work great and they are about as small as possible - makes cleaning and maintenance and placement sooooo easy to deal with.

ahman - In addition to the TUNZE's I still use a SEIO 1500 - you can see it in the bottom right of the photo and 2 Maxijet 1200's on the bottom in back of the rock work.

No no I want to see the differnce in clutter between all those powerheads and your Tunze's.

Ok, so I just got my set of 2 tunzes yesterday. But I hate the factory stock hanger. Did you glue the back peice and pivot peice to the magnet or just glued the whole thing to the back. I have to change this.

REEF-DADDY - I am searching for before/after pics - the difference is huge - not only is there significantly less clutter, but I no longer use suction cups on any of my powerheads - I bought 5 Algae Free magnetic powerhead holders - lower profile - easier to handle than blasted suction cups

wentreefgirl - The Algae Free magnet comes with the proper adapter for the TUNZE 6100...all you need are 2 small parts that come included with the TUNZE's - ultra easy.

I use the smaller of the two Algae Free magnets - they work great - do not get the idea that you can slide them around like a glass cleaning magnet - you can't - you just place the TUNZE exactly where you want it, and then apply the outer maget to hold it in place.

Very low profile, easy access for maintenance, simple, effective.

fishdave739 - No, it is not a digitata - I was told it is an elkhorn coral, but I'm not too sure...it is my canary in the coal mine - very demanding coral - when conditions are at their best, it biolum's nicely under my VHO Super Actinics, I should photo it close up for an ID...

The more I see tanks without painted backs the more I like them. They give a much better sense of depth. Nice tank!

The tank is in a classroom - drilling is exxpensive for me and I fear leaks - the less holes the less change of a leak or crack - the school would not be happy with a flood...

i believe the elkhorn to be anacropora, i have some as well; it grows really fast and very brittle.
