Why does it mean different biotopes require different settings?

also it say reduction for higher sensitive corals..

does that refer to the sliding door on front? the more you close the better it skims?

It has to do with the size of aquarium your Tunze Protein Skimmer is suited for. The higher your bio-load, or demand, will determine what size Tunze Protein Skimmer would be best suited for the job.

For example if you select a Tunze DOC 9010 and you require a protein skimmer to handle a "high sensitivity and high bioload" the Tunze DOC 9010 will be suitable, for such a demand, in an aquarium no larger than 105.60 u.s. gallons. (264 - 60%(158.4)=105.60
