Wow what an ATO!

I'm cleaning the float unit(the eye, float) also running pump constantly for 2 hr in vinegar water.

Will pump be ok running for long?
Anyone cleaned impeller in it?
Is it easy to open up to clean.

Thanks

I am following along on this. Just past experience cleaning other equipment a soak for a couple hours and then running the pump for just a few minutes should work.

A new pump is about $25 on amazon. If your using RO water... their should not be much of a reason to clean it, it should have very little build up.

That being said, running that pump for 2-hours may kill it, I doubt its designed for continuous duty. (and the controller wont let it either)

You're right it stopped after some time on its own.

Why would you buy a new pump if you can perform maintenance on it and make it last longer? I have 3 dogs in the house and, don't ask me how, hair ends up in the top-off container.

There is no need to run it for 2 hours to clean it. Soaking in vinegar for an hour and running for 2-3 cycles will suffice.

+1. Many will dose kalkwasser in the top off don't know for sure but you might get a little build up from that?
