Tunze or Vortech?

I'm sure there are a million of these threads, but my search feature is disabled... :(

I am planning on the new Marineland 300 deep series tank (6x3) and am wondering if 2 Vortech MP40's would be enough flow for this tank, along with my external pump for the returns of course. Right now if I set the tank up, I'd go with what I have which is 2xTunze 6100's and the 7095 multicontroller.

Are the Vortech's THAT much better than then Tunze's? Are two pumps really worth $1000? I'm just worried that 2 won't be enough on a 3 foot deep tank. Should I just keep what I have?

Some negative feelings I have about my Tunze setup is the size of the pump, the placement of the pump, the heating of the water...and that's about it. Some things I don't like about the Vortech (but will admit I have never seen one in use in person) is that you have limited placement options, and you have wires running down the side of the tank from the dry side.

HELP!

While both are great pumps I have chose to go with the Vortch. I recently posted some videos of a single Vortech in action on my 150 G 6 foot tank on my build thread and I'm sure you'll find lots of other videos too.
I wouldn't think 2 tunze with the needed controller would cost a lot less though. as you say size, heat and having an electrical component out of the tank are always a plus. two disadvantages of the Vortech is some noise level ( very acceptable and can't be heard unless you're veryclose tot he pump) and he fact that you can't orient the pump whch isn't really a problem considering how wide the flow of the vortech is.

I'd go with the Vortech if it were me, and I agree with maroun that the Tunzes w/ a controller would probably come pretty close to the Vortechs as far as cost goes.

Just a search tip, if you can't access the search on RC, just use google. "Type what you're searching for" site:reefcentral.com into google, works pretty well.

Vortech. I have 2 mp40w on my 120g tank. At first, I didn't like the idea of the wires shown on the outside of my tank. After having the wires taped to the top edge of the tank, it is hardly noticeable. Overall a great pump that looks great, and create a ton of flows.

So you all think if I were to sell my Tunze setup, 2 x 6100's with 6200 magnets and the 7095 controller I could buy (used) 2 Vortech mp40w with the battery backups for similar money? I posted a thread in the equipment trading area for just that, a straight trade rather than sell one to buy the other, it would be easier.

And all of you folks seem to think that I'd like the Vortech's that much more huh?

Lastly, would I put both Vortech's on one side of the tank (6x3) or point them at each other?

put them on opposite sides. they can work together wirelessly. its amazing. they can either work in sync with eachother or opposite. and as far as the wires they give u these awsome sticky brackets so u don't even notice the wire. they're also so quite u can't hear it unless ur a foot away from it. its pricy, but its the best piece of equipment I have ever bought. also so many modes to choose from!
