Tunze powerhead recommendation

I'm getting ready to drop some cash on a couple of powerheads for my 75g and I am still in debate over what powerheads to get.

I have chosen Tunze powerheads because of the silence of operation and years of trust and reliance that the company has provided to many aquarists.

With that said, this is my first time getting into Tunze powerheads,... and I am completely confused of the numbers and what to get.

Let me explain what I WANT and then I would like some feedback on what I NEED. Anything would help at this point.

75g SPS dominated peninsula style aquarium. - I want something that will grow with my corals, that is variable in speed through a controller, and that gives me years of service...

I would like to have two separate powerheads ... and I can live with one of them being on the small viewable side of the tank, but would prefer if they both would be along the overflow side.

If you're curious about the three lines of Tunze Stream powerheads, there's a short blog post here that gives a general overview of their differences. I think two 6095 Streams would work very well for your purposes. The 6095 is the most popular of the Nanostream models. It has the smaller form factor of all of the other Nanostreams, but is designed to make a wider flow stream. It has roughly a 3' by 3' flow pattern. You should be able to get all the flow you need even with both of them mounted on the overflow, aimed down the length of the tank. Your 75 is a relatively narrow tank so that will constrict the width of the stream a bit and help carry it the full length.

(The only other pump I would consider would be the 6105 and I would only opt for this if you plan to move to a larger aquarium in the near future. The 6105s could not reasonably be run at full power in a 75, but they can be turned down either from the power supply on the pump itself or else using a controller.)

The 7096 controller will give you the most options for controlling the Nanostreams. It uses a computer (PC or Mac) software interface for the programming, but once programmed it runs independently. The 7092 would be the controller to get if you just want simplicity. Here's a little chart comparing our three main controllers.

I hope that helps! Feel free to post back with more questions as they come up...
