Turbo snail babies

Well my snails have been laying eggs for quite some time now and I finally have my daughter (she is 7) de-sensitized to the fact that they are getting killed by the other fish in the tank. Now it seems that I have 12-15 survivors. I think they are turbo snails and they are about the size of a bb. Is there anything I should do to ensure the survival of these snails? Sadly my daughter has already named all of them. The fish seem to leave them alone, not sure about the hermit crabs (though they are smaller than the crabs).

Some snails breed and have babies in aquariums like astreas, limpets, stomatella but usually turbos don't like mexican turbos don't for some reason.

I suspect they aren't atreas, but some other type of snail or limpet. But I am pretty certain it's not the fiah that have eaten all the others. The hermit crab wing of your cleanup crew is more likely the culprit(s). You snails' chances of longterm survival depend on how many and how hungry your hermits are.

The cerith snails have laid eggs on the glass and we watched as the fish scraped them off and ate them. I have a picture (they really look like mini turbo snails) I will post here in a bit. I have turbo, cerith, and nassarius snails in the tank so I guess it could be any of those.

Ok here are the snail eggs I have seen from time to time, they had been identified as cerith snail eggs.

Here are some pictures of the snails, again they are about the size of a BB or slighly bigger. Not as big as a pea.

I have 4 hermits in the tank now, they seem to keep busy with the rocks and I havent seen them bother the snails. There is not a lack of food for them but I guess they could go after the snails.

those look like they could be Collonista snails. which at the size of a BB are about 1/2 grown. heres some info and better pics towards the bottom. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rs/index.php if thats them, keep your calcium levels up, and your daughter will have lots of new friends :D. they are great algae eaters as well.

the eggs are ceriths eggs. but they dont usually make it in the tank. if the fish dont eat the eggs, when they hatch, they are in a larval stage. most the time your skimmer will remove them. if they make it past that, other filter feeders, and predators will eat them. if they make it out of the larval stage, they are often eaten by the fish and other predators, or starve from lack of correct food source.

yeah those eggs never make it, took a while for her to get over that. Anyway I am guessing they could have come from the last bit of LR I added.

New small snails

New small snails

These snails look different, they are about 1mm in width so its a bit tough getting a picture. Here is one of them, any idea what it is?
