Turning a BRS Media Reactor into refugium?

I just bought the dual reactor from bulk reef supply, just to occasionally run carbon in it. I could have got the single reactor but bought the dual for options in the future. I was just thinking do you think one of the canisters would work as a refugium? I dont see why it wouldn't. Any thoughts/constructive criticism is appreciated.

I guess it could work. I think the main issues would be with lighting and getting the proper amount of water flow through the reactor for chaeto or other macro algae to grow well.

i personally dont think its worth the hassle. that canister would eat up alot of the light for any type of macro. so placing a high out put bulb for macro in a lil area such as a cansiter, would def not be worth the time, money and effort to eventually ditch the idea. also you wont get much growth really. they are only so wide, so to me i dont see it growing and expanding as much as it would in a section dedicated to a fuge in a sump.

i like the initial thinking of your idea. but i believe it just simply wouldnt be worth it in many aspects..

Yea you guys are right the more i think about it, im just trying to think of ideas for what i can use the 2nd chamber for.

I agree with them that the fuge would not be able to flourish in in such in a small space. And getting light would be a problem. Maybe you could run some type of mechanical or bio filtration if you're willing to change it out. Just a thought
