Turning a FOWLR into a Reef

I am interested in changing my FOWLR to a reef.

75 gallon, 125lbs LR+/-, 2" sand bed, sump w. fuge (DSB, chaeto, LR rubble), aquac ev180 skimmer, 260 watts of pc lighting, wave maker with 3 maxi 1200's and can still hook-up one more, a mag 9.5 return pump.

My parameters are at the appropriate levels, but will check one more time today.

I currently have a sixline wrasse and about 80 mushrooms.

While I am considering buying a 90 gallon with MH lighting, what corals could I start with in my current set-up that will be somewhat easy to take care of so that I can get started and see if it is something that I will enjoy.

have you ever dosed copper into your tank?

some zoanthids and, probably, some softies would be ok. that isn't a ton of light, but is plenty of flow.

You'll be fine with most any softie or LPS coral with that lighting. It's on the low side, but the corals will be fine. What are your nitrates, phosphates, calcium, alkalinity and salinity?

What is your bulb combination?

figure out what you really want to keep and go from there.

I would not buy a bunch of stuff you don't really want because it is considered "starter" corals and then you have to redo everything later. Trust me that is not the way to go.

Plus you have to find homes for all the corals that you never really wanted to start with.
