How big do they grow and are they different than florida fighting conches?

Anyone have a link or their scientific name?

I haven't been able to find a scientific name, but from the info that I've been able to find, they grow to 2" max size, and are detrivoires, I have a few in my tank, and they're pretty similar to fighting conches in eating habits, just a different shell color and shape

are you talking about sand turtle conchs?

I have NO idea. :)

I saw them on top/just below the surface of the sand at an LFS and asked the workers what they were and the workers just said they were "turtleneck conches." Their flesh was similar in color to the fighting conches from florida but had a VERY large difference in size between the body of the animal and the actual shell (versus the florida fighting conch, which has more of an equal ratio compared to the "turtle necks").

I can go back and get a pic if you guys need one either tomorrow or by the weekend. But since they are in the store's tanks I can't promise a great pic.
