Two more weeks left and it will be 3 months. Now here is my question on the QT. There is only two fish in it, velvet got all others. The emperor angel I caught about 2 months before the file fish and started cupmirne treatment at that time and everything went great. Then I caught the file fish and started the fallen period at that time, so the emperor has been in there for 5 months. I did not treat the QT again when I caught the file fish. Do I have anything to worry about? I did not treat the file fish because he looked fine with no problems. Can velvet still be there? There has been no signs for three months so far. Should I treat again for the last two weeks to be sure? Sorry for the long post. Hope this makes scene.
Thanks easygoer2

If velvet is what you were dealing with then your fallow period is over. Typically 8 weeks fallow is needed for velvet, 12 weeks is for ich. Interestingly recently there was a thread as to the immunity/resistance some fish may have against velvet. It was said that some fish can be a carrier and not show symptoms but this can last about 6 months.
Looking at it logically you know that the emperor is not immune and it has been in contact with the filefish for 10 weeks (if I'm doing the math correctly). Given that the emperor is healthy one can infer the the tilefish is healthy as well. Basically a canary in the mine scenario.
