As some might remember, I just came back from a short visit to the States. Two things I picked up - one, it is not as evil place as the movies make it out to be :). Two, you have some really nice aquariums there!

REally, not evil. Shoot we will have to try harder next time. The GA aquarium is awesome. To stand underneath a whale shark wow!!! Even the small ones blow my mind

Great photos there! I love the Shedd. I try and make it twice a year. Really great photos you take, though I hope you didn't have a flash on that leafy sea dragon...?!

Nope no flash used. I made sure. But then lots of people seem to forgot how to read.

The leafy sea dragons and the jelly fish must be my favorites.

The Mall of America aquarium is pretty cool. I only live like 20 minutes away from it, but I've only been once. Same idea though, you ride on a conveyor belt in like a tunnel at the bottom of a huge aquarium.

Yea us Americans arent too terrible. I think our main problem is we don't know how good we have it, and most of us are overweight, arrogant, thankless and careless, and have delusions of grandeur. But a lot of countries are similar in those ways. And some of us are pretty cool :-)

Yeah that is one thing I agree - I think many Americans do not always realise the immense amount of things they have to be thankful about. I mean, there is just no way our country can afford a $290mil aquarium. And the list goes on and on and on... But it was really awesome to see what can be done when people put effort in to making something great. Just wish I was closer to the States. But 19 hours of flying puts it out of reach for most of us.

Yah, and we have over a dozen $200mil+ aquariums at that. In San Fransisco we have the Stienhart that is in the midst of a $400mil renovation with the inclusion of a 200,000g reef tank.
