Uh Oh!!!

I think I have a problem. Along the seams where the front meets the sides it looks like shiny hairline cracks or crystallization. I think my tank is going to blow or am I freaking out!

Crystalization could be salt creep, no biggie. Is the tank acrylic (looking at your signature)? If so mine has them in it as well. I would not worry about it. Weldon3 which is used to joint acrylic together melts the acrylic and chemicaly bonds it together.

No. It's not salt creep or calcium build up. Kind of like bubbles with hairline crack looking things that are shiny like they are refracting light from the halides. Just appeared last night.

If you read the other forum you'll find I bought an AGA 90 from the TWP tank blowout special. Ironic name huh? Anyway be prepared for lots of frags that have grown over to nearby rocks etc.

wait, is this a new non-line or an actual line? Do I have to re-establish my non-place in the non-line? Crud, this is so confusing...

Roy - do you have pics of the seams? Maybe someone w/ more experience (perhaps the DIY forum?) can take a looksee and let you know what's causing those lines.

I got it all swapped and running last night. So less than 24 hours after carrying the tank into the house it's done. That was a chore. I was able to do some things I've been wanting with the rock etc. No more softies other than zo's. No mushrooms yay!!! I don't think my aquascaping is right yet. I'll need to take some pics today when the lights are all on and get some opinions and advise. I have about another 50 lb's of rock from Glenn that I could try to add to the tank if needed, or sump for filtration. I sent him home with some rocks of anthelia, shrooms, zo's and he's coming back for another load today. Anyone looking for some of that I'll have some misc. zo's and shrooms I'll post probably later today. No pm's yet or any lines, non lines, etc. One casualty, not from the move but apparently some other time my ywg is gone. I saw him so seldom I didn't know it. The pistol was there but unless he found a hole in the rock and escaped into the sump while the rock was in there, he's gone. The pistol was on a rock that wasn't moved to the new tank until after I dragged the old tank out of the way and then it went straight to the new one.

OK, some pics of the progress. Give me some aquascape opinions too. I think I need more rock in the display but I also like it more open.

The yellow fiji is still mad at me as you can see.

Definitely more rock, IMO. I am light on rock in my 120, but it's more filled in than that. It would be awesome to have a large arch type rock from the island on the left to the main group of rocks on the right, and give you a platform for future SPS to be up on. Like I said, just my opinion, looks pretty cool any way you choose. Congrats on a super fast move! Are you going to do an autopsy on the other tank to take a closer look at the problem?

And dangit, I was gonna call first in the non-line and the right color stick in John's stick game too.

Added some more rocks and caves. Stirred up the water a little but took the pics anyway. Here's the pics:

What are you doing with the old tank?

Any tips for switching tanks? I'm planning to get a 75 or 90 and it will have to go into the same place as my 55. Figured I'd ask that while it was fresh on your mind.

looks much better with all of the lr. congrats on a successful move, I know how hard it can be to do it all in such a short time.

Here's a pic of those front seams for anyone interested. This doesn't show up as well as when it had saltwater in it and the lights of the tank really made these stand out. This is just with freshwater sitting on the back patio.

The first two are from the front (looking through the front piece of acrylic and the end of the side pieces. Notice wht looks like scratches or something in the seam.

These are from the sides notice the crystal looking voids or ?? Almost like a glass chipping inside of there.

wow, looks like that could have gone pretty bad if you didn't notice it. that looks like a pretty boxer in the back ground, how about a nice picture of him/her.

I'm glad you got the tanks changed over without a massive loss of fish life!

Not that I know of. When acrylic is bonded/glued/whatever, the material actually melts and becomes one. Sounds like some line from Captain planet! Or some sybolistic marriage counciling book recommendation.

Felt like taking some pics. I have some stringy diatomes that aren't extreme just a little annoying so I turkey baster blast it a couple times a day for my own viewing pleasue. I'll be glad when they're done.
