Umbrella mushroom lighting

I bought an umbrella mushroom the other day. It was about three inches across and very healthy looking. In my tank it stays folded up. As in it doesn't extend out at all. I positioned it half way under shad and the other half in the light, and the side under the shade fully extends. Anyone else have experience with umbrella shrooms? It seems like they don't like much light at all. I have some green hairies, green striped, ricordea, green rhodactis in the same tank and they all do great. Lighted by 2 250 halides, 20k.

Hello Kylep, Umbrella mushrooms need very low lighting. I have kept them under metal halide but it takes months to adapt them to it. I would put it in the most shaded place in your tank with no direct light. If you can keep it like this for a while it should slowly adapt to the metal halide light: this may take moving it out slowly into more direct light over time.
