M ming69 New member Mar 3, 2008 #1 Noticed this green hairy patch next to the zoas. Think there are some long tentacles too. The zoas nearest to it don't open. Anyone knows what is it? Should I try to remove it? Please advise. Thanks!!

Pufferpunk New member Mar 3, 2008 #2 Hairy mushroom? I'd leave it, your zoas don't seem to mind--they close when something touches it.
MUCHO REEF 2003 TOTM Recipient Premium Member Mar 3, 2008 #3 Does appear to have enough symmetry to be a mushroom.
M ming69 New member Mar 4, 2008 #4 Not sure if it's mushroom. But guess will leave it for a while more to see if it spreads. Thanks!!
MUCHO REEF 2003 TOTM Recipient Premium Member Mar 9, 2008 #5 ming69, any updated info on what it was? If you can shoot a super macro shot, I'm sure someone here can help you ID this.

M ming69 New member Mar 15, 2008 #8 Was suggested that it might be galaxy, especially with the long sweeping tentacles. Anyway, just to be on the safe side, I broke the rock into 3 pieces. Split the colony into 2 pieces, and the unknown/galaxy. Thanks for the concern.
