anywhoo, leave em or kill em?? & how??

You might could try 1 peppermint shrimp or 2?. I have always had luck with pepps eatin' aiptasia. And there's a group order goin' on now so you could pickup a couple cheap...

good call....adding 2 to the group buy :)

I have had similar looking things to the red piece you circled. I believe it is just a red type of algae similar to bubble algae. That said, I've never had problems with it "taking over" my tank or anything.

I'd let it go and see what it does. At the absolute worst, in a tank that size, it starts to spread out of control and you have to ditch a few pounds of rubble. If it were a bigger tank, I'd say take the rock out, chip the rock off underneath of it, and just get it out (better safe than sorry in most cases). But red algae can be pretty attractive and could be a neat thing to look at.

And if this advice comes back to bite you (you know where), I'll gladly supply the rubble to replace it.

The red macro algae is a good kind. I would leave it alone. Actually if you are going to put zostrae in that tank it will be a very good thing. Of course kill the anemones. If you are planning on zostrae you really don't want any corals in there that can sting them. An aptasia could eat them they are so small. Actually I would start with dry base rock and not use live rock in a dwarf tank.

The red macro algae is good...I can't keep'em in my tank cause my tangs eat them up like all you can eat salad buffet! The other one aiptasia like everyone else says....kill it while you can!!!! Peppermints works very well unless aiptasia gets too big then you will have to squirt it with joe's juice or something like that.... I have heard like you've said, people use a needle to inject lemon juice into them to kill them off....
