Upgrade Question

I am upgrading my lighting system from a P/C to a 14k metal halide system. Should I take any precautions (i.e. shade/location) of my Florida Ric when transitioning the ric to the new lighting system.

Thanks.

Maybe use eggcrate over the tank. Possibly a few layers at first removing one after a few weeks and a few weeks later take the other off. You could also raise the light fixture and slowly lower it over a month. You could also do both, it never hurts to be carefull when making a drastic change like that.

That's what I'll be doing when I move my 20L with 2 x 65w PC lighting to a standard 29g with most likely a 175w MH pendant. Light acclimation is very important even for small changes (like old bulbs to brand new bulbs) IMO.

i sold my T5s an went too MH..{250] my softies love them your gunna have to mess with the bulbs tho..mine love the 20 k..but melted on the 6500..i lost many over night.. but at least i learned what likes what bulb.. an hi ya kiknchikn long time no see..
