Upgrading from 55 to 75 questions

I have a 75 gallon with nothing in it and a 55 gallon,BB soft coral tank with 20 gallon sump.
It currenty has a sarcophyton leather, xenia, shrooms, brown polyps, and a ricordia. Livestock consists of a tomato clown, royal gramma, two chromis, and a mandarin.

I was thinking of making the 75 a fowlr, but the more I think about it the more I think my reef critters would like the added space.

For those who have done similar upgrades, what should I look out for?
I suspect that even though I will only have to move things a few feet from one tank to the other, there is the risk of shock to the LR.

Is this likely to do much to my pod population? I'm not worried about the mandarin starving, as she eats frozen bloodworms like candy, but I like to know they're in there.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

Actually since you have no sand it shouldnt be so bad. It is when you disturb sand is where you have problems

I've had the mandarin since June. I have a fuge with chaeto to help with the pod population, and it seems to be working pretty well, since I continue to see pods on the glass crawling around.

we've done an upgrade like this before and had absolutely no cycling. The only thing you should look for is exposing sponges to air. They slime up pretty bad once back into the tank.

the only sponges are a few hitchhikers on the LR, so it should be okay.
I think the 75 will be a lot better from the standpoint of flow and I think the fish will appreciate the extra elbow room. In fact, I hope the change of scenery will put the fish back on a more equal footing. Right now the clown is boss and lets everyone know it.
