i was thrilled the other day when i ordered my new protein skimmer from marine depot. i even forewent the free shipping and paid the two day airmail delivery to get it here sooner. the package showed up and everything was fine-except i couldn't find the calcium test kit i ordered. of course i immediately called MD and the guy on the phone told me it was back ordered and it should be there in about a week, at which time they would send it to me via ground service. that means i would have received the test kit about ten days from when it should have been here and about twelve days from when i ordered it. i asked him if he was kidding and told him that sounded like a bad joke, and he checked with his manager because i insisted on next day mail when it comes in. the guy on the phone told me there should have been an email sent to me about the back order and it should have been displayed on the invoice. i received no email and no markings on the invoice. later last night they called me back to tell me it had already been shipped and that it should be here on monday. needless to say, i question the values of a company who will send you a product via the snailest of snail mail five days after it should have been to you, and after you have even paid the more expensive shipping charges.

Well I am curious, did you order a Salifert test kit? From what I understand that company only ships to the US a few times a year and once the stuff is gone, it is very hard to come by or ya just have to wait for the next order to come in. Again, that is just what I have heard.

no, it was a seachem calcium test kit. and not to be a whiny head, but no suction cups came with my maxijet 1200 either. i had to retrofit the suction cup from an old broken heater to get the vibrations close to under control. i realise this isn't really MD's fault, but so far I am not at all pleased.
