Upsizing my reef

I have a 135g reef tank. I am thinking about adding my 30g tank to the same system. I would run it off the same sump. Since I don't have that many corals in my larger tank, I was thinking about taking them and putting them in the 30 with some of my smaller fish and putting my 250 halide above the 30. Then I would use the larger tank as a FOWLR. Or I could keep the 135g the way it is and use the smaller tank as a frag tank. What do you guys think? What advantages or problems would I run into on either one of these systems?

I recently did the just that with my 120G BB and 40G Breeder SSB.
I run the overflows into separate socks in the sump and they share a common fuge and RDSB.
The 120 is a mixed reef , lots of small SPS, a few LPS, some shrooms and too many fish. The 40 has 2 ocellaris and a blue spot goby plus some frags that are on eggcrate until I trade them.
I think I am going to get a bunch a Florida Ricordia and some zoas for the 40 and maybe one more fish.
The advantages for me are one (larger) water system so chemistry is the same for both tanks and only one place to do water changes.
I don't see any problems except if there is a problem in one tank it is in the other also.
