I couldn't find an Echinoderm forum and I don't know where to put this but if someone can point me in the right direction, THNX!
Untill then here's my story.
I have a long spine sea urchin and purchased a feather star a while back. About 2 months. The feather star recently started regrowing its arms (doing pretty good I think). Today I noticed my Urchin on top of it and when I moved the urchin (with tongs) IT HAD THE STAR BY THE ARM IN ITS MOUTH!!! I was sooo mad! It dropped it after pushing it a while and now the star lost half of two limbs. GGRRRRRRR :mad2:
Now I don't know what to do. I want to move it to a different tank but I am in the process of moving and I am dividing up the fish and corals into 3 smaller tanks which are being cycled right now. I didn't know there was a compatability problem with these animals nor did I think Urchins ate Sea Stars. But they're scavengers so I guess it would make sense.
My other tanks are as follows:
20 long with 20 lbs of live rock
15 Tall with 15 lbs LR and 2 Seahorses
15 reg with 10 lbs LR, 3 Seahorses and 2 clownfish.
My main display tank is a 72 with 2 pipefish, a tang, and few corals but will be taken down in about 2 weeks or when the other tanks are cycled. Really the 15 tall and 20 long are cycling. Both are bare bottomed.
Any other info, just ask!
