URGENT help needed w/ Fairy Wrasse

I'm in the middle of TTM which is being done on a Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse and a green Chromis. Last night the wrasse was pretty much normal, no visible symptoms etc, today it is lethargic, laying on the bottom of the tank. I just did a transfer just now as well. It has no visible issues at all other than what it's doing.

My TTM water is mixed fresh RODI with Reef Crystals and right now is being treated with Prazipro during the next 5 days or so. What should I do?

You sure you didn't OD the Prazi? There have been several anecdotal accounts on here of wrasses suffering bad interactions with Prazi. Usually after being dosed too high.

Yes, quite sure. I followed the instructions which says 1 teaspoon/20G of water, they're in 5G so I went with a bit less than a 1/4 tsp.

Also it is having trouble staying upright.

Any ideas? It's not looking like it's in good condition right now, it can't swim normally or stay upright.

I suggest getting the fish out of there. Transfer him again, this time with no Prazi. If he's in a 5 gal bucket, I would transfer him into a tank so you can get a good look, watch for any visible external symptoms.

Also, are you sure the water/bucket/equipment you used for him didn't somehow get contaminated? Say, by a chemical (i.e. cleaning agent) or something?

He's in a 10G tank only filled to 5G mark, I'm pretty sure nothing was contaminated, I bleach everything between transfers but I rinse for 20+ minutes as well and let it dry for a while. Should I use water from my DT to move him back into a 5G bucket? The Chromis would have to go with him aswell because I don't have extra powerheads&heaters.

The Chromis would have to go with him aswell because I don't have extra powerheads&heaters.

Missed the part about the chromis being in with him. The chromis is acting fine I assume? If so, snorvich's theory about swim bladder seems more probable. I still would get him out of Prazi (for now) though. Use DT water if you have to.

Also just to keep you informed he was transferred earlier today from a 5G bucket into the 10G tank(filled halfway), and was acting this way before I transferred him as well. He's been shy for a while but today is when I really started to worry seeing how lethargic he is. Edit: Yes, chromis is in with him, it has been swimming in the same spot all day.

The wrasse died. It had a seizure while I was watching and stopped breathing. No visible issues.

The chromis is still swimming in one spot, open mouth breathing rapidly now. What is wrong with him?

Sorry for your loss. Since the chromis is also acting unusual, I would guess you are dealing with a fast killing parasite such as brook or velvet. Also, chromis are notorious for carrying Uronema marinum. But all of those should have visible external symptoms.

The other possibility is contaminated water. Is it possible something is wrong with that Prazi? But you say the wrasse was acting this way before the transfer. I am personally pretty paranoid about using bleach for TT. I use vinegar to clean, and air dry for 3 days to sterilize.

@Sublime the water was freshly made, and the older water was treated with Prime.

Regarding the prazi, I think it's okay because I treated my clowns with it a couple months ago. Perhaps it was bleach that did it, I hope not. :(

yea that sucks. I'm no expert I just figured I'd throw that out there. and yea I have never used bleach to clean a tank so I can't say but I know if there was even a little left in there that would do it. how is the chromis?

At any time, was Prazi mixed with Prime? I personally have not had a problem doing that, but others on here reportedly have (and with wrasses unless I'm mistaken).

Actually yes, during the first transfer today I put prime in and shortly after that added the Prazi dose, then later added the fish. This was when I moved them from the 5G bucket to the 10G tank filled halfway.
