Uronema and Chloroquine

will chloroquine phosphate @ 15-20 ppm erradicate uronema from a system? it seems there is not alot of info out there on the best way to extinguish this parasite

I had success treating a group of chromis with Uromena with chloroquine in a QT. They cleared and the sores resolved. It returned when they were placed back into the DT and I lost them one by one over a 2 month period. I'm not sure it will completely eradicate the parasite in a DT since it is not an obligate fish feeder and the mechanism of action in chloroquine may require the fish. In a QT, the bottom is bare and feeding probably relies on the fish.

It is worth a try because treating a DT with formalin isn't a great idea. If you are having trouble finding chloroquine, PM me.

Thanks for the reply. I have some on hand but if i run out, i'll PM you, thanks!!

My question is: were the other fish in the DT affected? I basically had the same thing happen and I want to try to be sure that the tank is clear of it before adding new fish

I only have 1 fish in the DT right now, i could move him to a QT and let the tank go fallow, but as i understand it, fallow does not help for uronema. So i'm just trying to figure out the best option for ridding the DT of this
