The skimmer is 24" tall, 6" wide. You'll need another 1/2" to get the cup off.

i bought this skimmer as well. how is it working for you. i havn't figured it out yet but i haven't put much time into figuring it out. it seems that i either have it set too high and the colection cup is filling up fast with clear tank watter or i have it set too low and the bubbles are not making it up there.

Upgraded to larger tank that came w/a larger skimmer. There is about a 100 page thread about this skimmer, if you're having problems w/it. It is a lil tricky to dial in. I turn it off when feeding & if you do a large top off, it can overflow. That's why I have the cup attached to a tube, draining into a gallon jug.

Still a great skimmer for the price!
