ushio 14k

anyone know if there is burn in time? I bought the 150 watt de 14ks from hellolights when they didnt have phoenixs.

the 250s look yellow when first fired. Give it time.

I have the exact issue. Are your corals looking bad ? I originally had 15k and thought 10k would be better. I destroyed all my polyps. I just put in ushio 14k and it is real white and the polyps are not coming out.

they don't look that bad. they just dont display the same color, just dull looking

I must be lucky. My Ushio 10K 1000w bulb look kind of yellow, but i can see more true color compare to 14k Hamilton.

Dendence, if you change from 14k to 10k bulb you need to reduce the photo period by couple hrs or raise the light a little bit higher. If not your corals will either stress out, lack of PE or bleached out. I have to raise my light by 8" and reduce photo period from 8hrs -6hrs.

thanks reefer. I wish I did that when I swithed from 15k to 10k. I switched to 14k and I hope everything recovers.
