Using a garden hose

My saltwater mixing container is a decent distance from my tanks. I was considering using a garden hose attached to my pump in order to push the water to the tanks when I do water changes. However, I was concerned about the fact that most garden hoses use brass nozzles. Will that be a problem?

And just out of curiosity, most homes have copper pipe... so why isn't copper leeching from the pipes an issue?

Thanks

RODI will remove all them impurities.

Use an RV Drinking Water Garden Hose. These are white with plastic ends. You can find them almost anywhere. Or Vinyl tubing, whcih you can buy by the foot at almost and hardware store (HD, Lowes)

Or you can cut the brass end off and buy garden hose DIY ends that are all plastic.

As already suggested, plain Vinyl tubing you can buy by the foot at any big box or mom and pop hardware store would work just fine also.

To answer your other question, most homes are plumbed in copper, yes, but your RO/DI filter will take that copper out. Which is why all the fittings and tubing with the RO/DI unit are plastic.

I did what homer1475 said. I bought the hose, cut off the ends, and put the plastic ones on.

Vinyl tubing is over $1 a foot for the size I was looking at. For the length I needed it was a $60 hose. An equivalent water hose was only $10. Add $3 per each plastic end and I still came out way ahead.

Yeah, I was put off by the price as well. I think I will go with this solution. Thanks guys!
