using strobes

Hi, I'm working with a Canon 1DS Mark 1 doing a tank photo and due to that camera's limited ability to work in higher ISOs I want to supplement the light.

I have a number of strobes that I could use, what are peoples experiences with this?

Do this:

...but with a simple tank dedicated to this purpose. It doesn't need filtration or anything really, just tank water and strobes. A quarantine tank if you will. The subject shouldn't be in the light box for more than 5 minutes so you don't need anything in the tank but the subject itself and your own creative twists to make the shot better.
